Never engage in a fair fight!

Never engage in a fair fight!

One of the most important principles of self-defense is to never get involved in a fair fight (and obviously, not to expect your attacker to do so either). On one hand, there are no rules on the street and no forbidden techniques — groin strikes, scratches to the eyes and the entire face, bites, improvised weapons — all of these are recommended and even necessary when you have to deal with an attack! Secondly, if it is a matter of a threat, or a situation where resisting would put you in greater danger, and you can wait / influence what is happening and decide when the physical confrontation is triggered, you must in the meantime create an advantage for yourself: convince them that you will cooperate and react at an unexpected moment, distract the attacker’s attention, use the objects around you and the terrain / environment to your advantage. A famous war quote says that if you find yourself in a fair fight you are deficient in tactics (“If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.”), and it applies perfectly to self-defense! Bad actors don’t care about common sense or moral concepts — in fact, they exploit general good faith — so in order to come out safely from a dangerous situation it will be necessary to “think outside the box”! PS: “Never engage in a fair fight” also means that you don’t pick fights on the street just to see who is “tougher.” Such situations are excluded from the self-defense category from the outset, and we consider that there are no victims — both parties are equally at fault.
