Defense Against Knife Attacks
Among possible attacks, those involving a bladed weapon (most often a knife) are among the most dangerous! A cut or a stab in an unfortunate location can mean the end. Moreover, in most situations the weapon is kept hidden for as long as possible, and the attack trajectories are often unpredictable. In krav maga, when an attack is already in progress, the priority is deflecting/blocking the attack. This is vital when the aggression involves a weapon. The person being attacked must then counter-attack as quickly and powerfully as possible — ideally the strike should be simultaneous with the block, so that the attacker is distracted and unable to continue the assault.
